Explore the science of rainbows with colorful activities and a lively parade through our exhibits! Enjoy hands-on experiments, create instantly drying tie-dyed T-shirts (bring your own or buy one for $5) and experience the dazzling Pride KaBoom! show. Little ones (ages 0-6) can dance, create vibrant masks and make rainbow prints in a day filled with fun and discovery.

Join MODS for a fun-filled morning of beach cleanup, with entrance fees waived for all volunteers! Perfect for all ages, especially kids 8+, with adult chaperones required for those 16 and under. Pack a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray and wear comfy, closed-toe shoes. We’ll provide water, Gatorade and cleanup supplies, but feel free to bring your own gear. Let’s work together to protect our

Hurricane season is here and MODS is teaming up with FIU’s International Hurricane Research Center and the Florida Division of Emergency Management! Future storm chasers, meteorologists and engineers will dive into hurricane science and disaster preparedness. Then, explore sustainability and climate adaptation in Florida’s Climate Future City, sponsored by the Environmental Defense Fund. Families can design and test resilient cities incorporating innovative features to withstand extreme weather. Young meteorologists (ages 0-6) can discover how hurricanes form and create “My Hero Helper” portraits. Join us for a hands-on journey into the science of storms, resilience and building a sustainable future!

At Camp STEAMology, we’ve crafted the ultimate age-appropriate camp adventure, providing campers with interactive exploration and hands-on learning opportunities in the coolest camp environment you can imagine. Plus, don’t forget the cherry on top – a weekly IMAX® immersion that’ll have your child’s curiosity soaring to new heights. It’s not just camp; it’s a journey into the exciting world of STEAM that they’ll never forget!

Promotional Photography

From time to time, the Museum of Discovery and Science takes photographs during classes and camp. These photographs are used for many purposes, including advertising and promotional materials. Should you have any objection to the Museum taking or using photographs of you or your children, please call and advise a reservations agent before your child’s camp begins. This information will be recorded in your child’s record.

  • A camp registration confirmation will be sent to you once your child’s registration has been processed.
  • The Museum reserves the right to combine like age levels to meet minimum attendance requirements.
  • The Museum reserves the right to cancel a program if minimum enrollment has not been reached.
  • Camp fees must be processed and submitted prior to your child participating in Camp STEAMology.

Policy and Procedures

  • All camp registrations are final and will be honored only on the camp day/week purchased. 
  • Except in the case of an event cancellation by the Museum, there are no refunds or exchanges allowed.
  • Absences may not be “made up” by having your child(ren) attend another camp on a different day, nor will you receive a prorated amount/refund/credit for any missed days. This includes illnesses or emergencies. 
  • If a camper is sent home due to behavioral reasons, no refunds will be provided. 

Promotional Photography

From time to time, the Museum of Discovery and Science takes photographs during classes and camp. These photographs are used for many purposes, including advertising and promotional materials. Should you have any objection to the Museum taking or using photographs of you or your children, please call and advise a reservations agent before your child’s camp begins. This information will be recorded in your child’s record.

When school’s out, the real adventure begins at Camp STEAMology! Give your child a SCIENTASTIC STEM experience at MODS’ camp program, perfect for grades kindergarten through grade 4. At Camp STEAMology, we’ve crafted the ultimate age-appropriate camp adventure, providing campers with interactive exploration and hands-on learning opportunities in the coolest camp environment you can imagine. Plus, don’t forget the cherry on top – a weekly IMAX® immersion that’ll have your child’s curiosity soaring to new heights. It’s not just camp; it’s a journey into the exciting world of STEAM that they’ll never forget!

Grades: Kindergarten through Grade 4
Time:  9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Drop off: 8:30 a.m.
Aftercare: 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. 

AFTERCARE TUITION: Aftercare rates are as follows:

CAMP STEAMology T-SHIRTS ARE REQUIRED Campers are required to wear Camp STEAMology t-shirts. One FREE shirt will be included with registration for any multi-day camp, and an additional shirt will be provided for subsequent weeks. Additional shirts can be purchased for $12 at check-in.

FIELD TRIPS will be to Esplanade Park, an outdoor venue directly across from the Museum. Other enrichment activities will be brought in on-site to the Museum from trusted partners.

ADVANCED REGISTRATION is required to guarantee a spot due to smaller group sizes.

KEEPING HEALTHY SCIENTISTS SAFE 

  • Daily health and safety protocol review with campers.
  • Every camper must bring a reusable water bottle clearly labeled with their name. No single-use plastic bottles, please.
    • Proper handwashing technique and frequent reminders.
    • Designated Camp restrooms and water fountain.
  • Required pre-registration for a guaranteed spot.
  • Adherence to all local, state and national health and safety laws, rules and guidelines. Educators are prepared to provide an amazing camp experience.

  • Class capacity is limited and enrollment is based on a first-come, first served basis.
  • Multiple-day camps cannot be purchased as one-day camps
  • We accept Visa, MasterCard or American Express. You may also pay cash in person at the Box Office.
  • Museum members may also pay by personal check. Checks should be made payable to: Museum of Discovery and Science.
  • A camp registration confirmation will be sent to you once your child’s registration has been processed.
  • Box lunches for campers are available for pre-orders.
  • The Museum reserves the right to combine like age levels to meet minimum attendance requirements.
  • The Museum reserves the right to cancel a program if minimum enrollment has not been reached.
  • Camp fees must be processed and submitted prior to your child participating in Camp STEAMology.

Policy and Procedures

  • All camp registrations are final and will be honored only on the camp day/week purchased. 
  • Except in the case of an event cancellation by the Museum, there are no refunds or exchanges allowed.
  • Absences may not be “made up” by having your child(ren) attend another camp on a different day, nor will you receive a prorated amount/refund/credit for any missed days. This includes illnesses or emergencies. 
  • If a camper is sent home due to behavioral reasons, no refunds will be provided. 

Promotional Photography

From time to time, the Museum of Discovery and Science takes photographs during classes and camp. These photographs are used for many purposes, including advertising and promotional materials. Should you have any objection to the Museum taking or using photographs of you or your children, please call and advise a reservations agent before your child’s camp begins. This information will be recorded in your child’s record.

Camp STEAMology

When school’s out, the real adventure begins at Camp STEAMology! Give your child a SCIENTASTIC STEM experience at MODS’ camp program, perfect for grades kindergarten through grade 4. At Camp STEAMology, we’ve crafted the ultimate age-appropriate camp adventure, providing campers with interactive exploration and hands-on learning opportunities in the coolest camp environment you can imagine. Plus, don’t forget the cherry on top – a weekly IMAX® immersion that’ll have your child’s curiosity soaring to new heights. It’s not just camp; it’s a journey into the exciting world of STEAM that they’ll never forget!

Grades: Kindergarten through Grade 4
Time:  9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Drop off: 8:30 a.m.
Aftercare: 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. 

AFTERCARE TUITION: Aftercare rates are as follows:

One-Day Camp: $20   Three-Day Camp: $45 Four-Day Camp: $50   Five-Day Camp: $55
Seven-Day Camp: $75    

LATE PICKUP FEE: $6 fee per minute will be added to the credit card on file.

CAMP STEAMology T-SHIRTS ARE REQUIRED Campers are required to wear Camp STEAMology t-shirts. One FREE shirt will be included with registration for any multi-day camp, and an additional shirt will be provided for subsequent weeks. Additional shirts can be purchased for $12 at check-in.

FIELD TRIPS will be to Esplanade Park, an outdoor venue directly across from the Museum. Other enrichment activities will be brought in on-site to the Museum from trusted partners.

ADVANCED REGISTRATION is required to guarantee a spot due to smaller group sizes.

KEEPING HEALTHY SCIENTISTS SAFE 

  • Daily health and safety protocol review with campers.
  • Every camper must bring a reusable water bottle clearly labeled with their name. No single-use plastic bottles, please.
    • Proper handwashing technique and frequent reminders.
    • Designated Camp restrooms and water fountain.
  • Required pre-registration for a guaranteed spot.
  • Adherence to all local, state and national health and safety laws, rules and guidelines. Educators are prepared to provide an amazing camp experience.

Join us for an exclusive screening of Cities of the Future 3D followed by an interactive, lively discussion at the Forum with city officials and engineers about future plans for cities globally, and in Ft. Lauderdale.  Are flying cars in our future?  What are the options for clean energy? Learn about a "smart city” - will Ft Lauderdale become a smart city?  We want to hear your opinions on the future!

ABOUT: A Movie Reschedule/Refund Guarantee (MRRG) allows ticket holders to refund or exchange movie tickets for a different date/time (if available) if the ticket holder is unable to attend their originally selected date/time. A Movie Reschedule/Refund Guarantee (MRRG) is only valid through the run of the film originally selected, and it cannot be used for a different film. A Movie Reschedule/Refund Guarantee (MRRG) is $3.00 per ticket.

IMAX T-REX 2D - Sensory Friendly

SENSORY FRIENDLY SUNDAYS:

Time: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

MODS will be opening an hour early for sensory-friendly Museum exploration and activities followed by an IMAX film* at 12:30 p.m.

To provide a more sensory-sensitive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, the theater lights will be turned up and the sound will be lowered. All films will be presented in 2D. No trailers will be shown before the movie. Audience members are welcome to get up, sing, walk, dance and shout without worrying about someone complaining. Families also are able to bring snacks from home, as well as blankets and other small items to be comfortable.

Guests also can participate in a variety of sensory based activities throughout the Museum. Children will engage in social interactions and improve the processing, modulation and regulation of sensory input to increase participation in a natural environment.
