Florida Sand Angels Beach Cleanup
8 a.m. - 10 a.m. • Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park
Marine debris is a growing problem affecting our coastal ecosystems, especially for the plants and animals that live in them. Join MODS for the 3rd Annual Florida Sand Angels Beach Cleanup at the Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park. Volunteers also will learn about our environmental initiatives and how to be a part of them. The clean-up is appropriate for all ages but recommended for children 8 years old and older. All children 16 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Volunteers will meet at Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park (6503 N Ocean Dr, Dania Beach, FL 33004). Park entrance fees will be waived for participants. All volunteers should bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, closed-toe shoes, as well as appropriate clothing for beach and weather. Water, Gatorade and cleaning supplies will be provided, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own equipment.
Space is limited to ensure social distancing. Preregistration and masks are required.
